Who is Super Mario
Mario was created by a Japanese video game designer named Shigeru Miyamoto in 1981 with the first Mario game introduced on the gaming market called Donkey Kong. Mario’s fame is mainly based on getting the title as Nintendo’s Mascot, just like Sega’s mascot is Sonic the Hedgehog. Through Nintendo, Mario got great exposure and was marketed all over the world with different designed platform games and has been featured in more than 200 games ever since.
The original Mario game plot was to save the princess by going through levels in Mario land and fighting enemies and bosses. Mario is most vulnerable when he is little, one stroke by an enemy at that stage and Mario is dead. To get more strength and protection towards enemies Mario needs to be fed with red mushrooms, this makes Mario big which results in Mario being capable of getting hurt by the enemy twice before dying. Other ways to increase the lifes of Mario is to collect money or green mushrooms.
Lately Mario is not only featured in platform games, over the last years Mario games such as racing, fighting and puzzle games have entered the gaming world as well as 3D styled “platform” styles.
